As much as anything, punk was a rallying call for direct action. Whether forming a band, starting a record label or making your own clothes, punk provided the momentum for a generation of creative democracy, and that spirit remains arguably the movement’s most important legacy.

Putting On events?

Fuelled by the spirit of punk’s D.I.Y. aesthetic, we’d love to hear about events inspired by this celebration and not just in the capital, but everywhere, so register your events on The Culture Diary and flag them as Punk 2016 to connect your event with the media, listings and promotion occurring throughout the year.

Use The Punk. Visual ID

Whether your event is located in London or elsewhere, the Punk. logo and typeface is available for anyone to use. Designed by Neville Brody, whose revolutionary graphic design and typographic work has a strong punk influence, you can email to request the logotype and typeface assets.
